DOS
Phantom v3.0
is a full-featured keystroke record and playback utility for DOS.
DOS Phantom includes hot-key initiated and scheduled playback, a scripting
language providing looping, branching, file I/O, pop-up text windows
and menus, program exit status detection, the ability to read text
from the screen and much more. Take screen text from one application
and supply it as keyboard input to another application. The included
Scraper utility lets you "scrape" text from the screen using
the arrow keys and then play the scraped text back as if it were coming
from the keyboard. Use DOS Phantom for scheduling such chores as unattended
backup, defragmentation, tasks to complex for simple macros, and report
printing.
This version of DOS Phantom is Y2K compliant.
A playback-only version of DOS Phantom is also available.

Secure
Phantom is a version of Phantom enhanced to provide security
for Phantom playback files. The TXT2PTM and PTM2TXT translators have
been enhanced to allow scrambling of the playback file contents based
on a keyword supplied on the command line. This prevents users with
binary editors from determining the keystrokes contained within the
playback file. This can be useful when such items as passwords are
being played back. PHANTOM2.EXE and P2PLAY.EXE have been correspondingly
enhanced to unscramble the playback file during playback. You implant
the key into the executables using a special utility. This is done
in such a way that the unscrambled text is never resident in memory
as more than a single byte at a time. |

Demo
Workshop is a tool for creating product demonstrations, tutorials,
and presentations. Screens can be recorded in full motion or as snapshots.
The resultant recording is edited like a movie: scenes can be cut,
copied, and resequenced. Pop-up text windows and menus can be added
along with special effects such as wipes, squeezes, and dissolves.
The final product is a single executable. Due to the compression techniques
used, the output executable can often fit on a single floppy disk.
Version 1.2
Beta 12 adds the capability of creating much larger presentations,
support for VGA graphics screen snapshots, and executing DOS commands
as part of the presentation. Included is a program to play .WAV
files through the PC speaker, allowing sound to be included in presentations.
